6-10-2008 - The Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Bishop Counsel #2112 donated $1432.69 from their annual Tootsie Roll fundraising drive. The Knights of Columbus also donated 2 refurbished computers. Their generous financial contribution will be used to fund summer activities for our consumers who are on summer school break. It is only through the generous support of community organizations such as the Knights of Columbus that enables us to enhance the quality of life of some of our communities least fortunate.

Crystal Lake, Inc. is now Attain, Inc

6-1-2006 - Crystal Lake, Inc. has experienced tremendous growth because of our staff members’ dedication to providing high quality supports to some of the community’s most vulnerable citizens. The growth of Crystal Lake, Inc. has brought on a need to change the name of the organization to better communicate the diversity of the services we offer. As you know the organization now has an ADT off Curry Ford and an additional group home off Harding. The organization is no longer defined only by the geographic association with the lake.

There will not be any change in the board of directors, management team, or behavior analysts as part of the organization name change to Attain, Inc. The most visible change will be a change in logo, signage, website, and brochure.

These changes come at a time when state funding for services is getting tighter. The Board of Directors and management team are committed to growing the capacity of the organization to build the strength of the organization to tolerate State funding reductions. The new logo, website, and brochure are geared towards communicating the high quality supports that you provide on a day to day basis. Growth will give the organization needed resources to support the ongoing operations and enhance employee benefits. I am proud of Crystal Lake, Inc’s staff members commitment to providing the highest standard of support.

Integrated Adult Day Training as an Alternative to Sheltered Workshops

As an alternative to traditional sheltered workshop based service, Attain, Inc. has developed an Adult Day Training program that is an integrated community based experience which focuses on participation, increased enjoyment of life, improved social skills, and independence.

Attain’s ADT services stress training in the activities of daily living, self-advocacy, adaptive and social skills that are age and culturally appropriate.

Our consumers have participated in many different, economical activities in Central Florida. The focus of our ADT program has been to increase appropriate socialization, cooperation with staff and peers, and participation in a variety of activities.
Admission to the program requires the following: 1)The applicant has been denied admission, or involuntarily discharged from other adult day training programs, 2) the applicant requires a Behavior Support Plan to be implemented during adult day training service to address problem behaviors, and 3) the applicant requires a 1:3 staffing ratio or smaller.
